PS Public Service opens 2nd Annual Huduma Centre Managers Conference at KSG Mombasa
During the official opening at the 2nd Annual Huduma Centre Managers Conference, Principal Secretary for Public Service Mr. Amos Gathecha set the tone with a compelling call to action to all Centre Managers under the theme “Service with a Smile.” Held at the Kenya School of Government in Mombasa, the conference aimed to reflect on triumphs, tackle hurdles, and craft forward-thinking strategies to elevate service delivery under Huduma Kenya’s mission of offering citizen-focused, efficient, and dignified public services.
In his address the PS painted a vivid picture of Huduma Kenya’s transformative impact on customer experience, a feat that has garnered admiration both within Kenya and beyond its borders. PS passionately encouraged managers to harness innovation, uphold unparalleled service standards, and stay agile to meet the evolving needs of the populace.
Highlighting the Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), PS Gathecha, showcased the impressive expansion of the eCitizen platform from 5,000 to an astounding 20,000 online services, underscoring Huduma Kenya’s pivotal role in the digital landscape.
PS also highlighted the recently launched Customer Service Excellence Training Framework, a visionary initiative designed to infuse Huduma’s exemplary service ethos throughout the Public Service, with future plans to include police training. PS Gathecha emphasized the critical role of transformative leadership, cohesive team-building, and rigorous performance management as cornerstones of service excellence.
He urged participants to rise above fiscal challenges through creativity and resourcefulness, striving to exceed expectations in their service roles. PS in his closing remarks emphasized that every interaction with a citizen is an opportunity to leave a lasting, positive impact, fostering a culture of trust and satisfaction that defines Huduma Kenya’s legacy.
