Welcome to the Official Portal for Kenya’s APSD 2025 Celebrations
Kenya is honored to join the rest of the African continent in commemorating African Public Service Day (APSD) 2025—a moment to reflect, celebrate, and innovate together in service of the African people. This year, under the African Union theme:
“Enhancing the Agility and Resilience of Public Institutions to Achieve Equitable Governance and Rapidly Address Historical Service Delivery Gaps,” we recommit to building responsive, inclusive, and transformative public service systems that uplift all citizens.
APSD 2025 – Kenya National Celebrations
Event Dates: 10th–12th June 2025
Venue: Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Nairobi
Build up CSR exercise: Clean up exercise of Nairobi River and a Tree planting exercise along the reparian land on 6th June 2025
In preparation for the continental celebration, Kenya’s national events will bring together public servants, innovators, citizens, and development partners for a dynamic, knowledge-sharing experience focused on innovation and inclusive governance.
National Highlights:
1. Public Service Innovation Exhibition
Ministries, Departments, Counties, and Agencies will exhibit practical innovations addressing real challenges, organized around three key themes:
Technology and digitalization.
Public Service Inclusivity
Agility and Resilience: how has the innovation enhanced agility and resilience in the institution
Submissions will be evaluated, awarded and select projects will be prepared for continental showcasing.
2. National Symposium on Public Sector Transformation
A thought-provoking dialogue featuring policy practitioners, academics, and civil society on how public service can:
Strengthening public institutions to address Historical inequalities and promote inclusivity.
Legal and structural reforms to achieve equitable governance.
Leveraging digitalization to enhance access to information and accountability.
Civil society advocacy and multi stakeholder collaboration for inclusive governance.
3. Recognition of Excellence
Innovators and institutions demonstrating outstanding impact in service delivery will be acknowledged and awarded. Their work will serve as inspiration across the continent.
Continental Engagement
Kenya looks forward to contributing to the continental APSD celebrations hosted by the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 21st–23rd June 2025. Innovations and insights from across the continent will be shared to strengthen our collective commitment to equitable governance.
