Youth empowerment remains central to building a resilient and prosperous nation. By equipping young people with skills, confidence, and opportunities, the Government is preparing them to innovate, participate meaningfully in decision-making, and drive sustainable development for future generations.
Today, H.E. President William Ruto, joined by CS Hon. Geoffrey Kiringa Ruku and PS Dr. Jane Kere Imbunya, presided over the historic pass-out parade of more than 18,000 National Youth Service (NYS) recruits who successfully completed their paramilitary training.
This is the largest cohort in the history of NYS to complete the foundational stage of training. The graduates will now be deployed to NYS stations nationwide to contribute to nation-building before undertaking specialized vocational training.
The NYS is advancing towards becoming a self-reliant institution through an ambitious commercialisation agenda that will enable it to venture into diverse business enterprises, generate sustainable resources, and facilitate large-scale expansion.
The Government remains firmly committed to implementing transformative reforms that will reposition the NYS into a dynamic and productive institution, one that empowers our youth to take charge of shaping Kenya’s future.
