Ministerial Performance Validation Exercise
Today afternoon at Harambee House, Cabinet Secretary Hon. Justin Muturi, alongside PS, Public Service Mr. Amos Gathecha, showcased the Ministry's significant achievements during the 2024/2025 Performance Contract validation exercise. A highlight was the impressive growth of Huduma Kenya, which expanded from 52 service centers in 2022 to 57 in 2024, increasing service offerings to 152 and facilitating over 14 million transactions, solidifying its role as a key player in efficient public service delivery.
The National Youth Service (NYS) also made notable strides, achieving an 11% increase in 2024.
To further enhance public service capacity, the Ministry launched a Web-Based Human Resources Information System, training 60 trainers and initiating its rollout at four sites, with plans for a nationwide expansion to bolster accountability.
The Kenya School of Government (KSG) contributed significantly by training public officers in 2024 which is —a 12% increase Mental health initiatives saw remarkable progress, with the number of trained Mental Health Champions rising by 51% to 601, while the number of public servants accessing counseling services surged by 78% in 2024.
The validation exercise led by Deputy Chief of Staff Hon. Eliud Owalo, Secretary to the Cabinet Ms. Mercy Wanjau, and PS Cabinet Affairs Mr. Idris Dakota, is crucial for driving the Ministry’s Strategic Plan in alignment with the 5th Administration’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
