HRMPEB holds the 5th CHRP Certification Ceremony at Bomas of Kenya
The 5th CHRP Certification Ceremony held at Bomas of Kenya marks a milestone in professionalizing HR Profession in Kenya's public sector.
Speaking during the graduation ceremony of HRMPEP CHRP graduands , PS State Department for Public Service Mr. Amos Gathecha expressed pride in HRMPEB's transformation, noting significant advancements like the introduction of the CBET curriculum and the updated CHRP curriculum, both aligned with national education goals. PS said that the State Department for Public Service is working to incorporate CHRP certification into HR career progression in the public sector, establishing it as a standard for career growth and reinforcing HR professionalism within government roles.
In his speech, Hon. Justin B. Muturi emphasized that the CHRP certification is more than just a credential it is also a gateway to influence and transform HR professionals, positioning them as strategic leaders in organizational success. CS recognized HR’s evolving role from administrative functions to strategic decision-making, shaping organizational culture, and safeguarding ethical standards.
CS said the government values HR professionals' contributions to Kenya's socio-economic development, acknowledging human capital as a vital asset. He said, the HRMP Act of 2012 marked a milestone, establishing standards to ensure only qualified professionals manage HR functions. CS reiterated that going forward, the government is committed to reinforcing these standards by integrating CHRP certification into public service roles, aiming to professionalize HR and encourage best practices.
He added that key government strategies focus on human capital optimization, including investments in competency development, continuous professional growth, and inclusive employment policies that ensure equitable job opportunities for all. A commitment to workplace well-being and innovation is intended to drive productivity and economic growth, with HR professionals at the forefront.
To the graduates, Hon Muturi urged them to uphold integrity and ethical standards as they shape Kenya's workplaces.
