Hon J.B Muturi Visits Yatta Field Unit in Machakos County

Hon. Justin B. Muturi concluded his working tour of Eastern region with a visit to NYS Yatta Field Unit in Machakos County. This is  a training institution offering courses in agriculture, environmental science, and technology. The center's key activities include tree nursery projects, fish farming, livestock management, crop production, and training in plant operations welding and fabrication. The tree nursery project in particular reflects a strong commitment to creating a greener, more sustainable environment. Meanwhile, livestock production and fishing are crucial to ensuring food security, as trainees learn to sustainably produce high-quality food sources.
During his visit, the CS expressed his gratitude for witnessing the impressive work being carried out at the field unit. He was especially impressed by the NYS’s significant contributions to food security and praised the enthusiasm and dedication of the Service men and women at the institution.
The CS encouraged the trainees to fully utilize the valuable skills they are acquiring, emphasizing their critical importance to the future of the country.
