Close of the ToT Programme for the Payroll Module of Kenya’s Human Resource Information System (HRIS-Ke)
Principal Secretary for Public Service Mr Amos Gathecha, has this afternoon officially closed the Trainers of Trainers Programme for the Payroll Module of Kenya’s Human Resource Information System (HRIS-Ke).
This marks a pivotal moment in the digital transformation of payroll management across Ministries, Departments, County Governments, and Agencies (MDCAs) ahead of the end-user training set for later this month.
Designed to streamline what has long been a fragmented and error-prone process, the HRIS-Ke Payroll Module is a game-changer.
The web-based system assigns each public servant a unique Unified Payroll Number (UPN), ensuring accurate, transparent payroll management while eliminating irregularities and duplicate payments. With the ability to monitor the wage bill in real-time, this platform stands as a bold commitment to financial integrity and accountability.
The PS emphasized that the initiative enjoys strong backing of His Excellency the President, whose vision for a technologically-driven, transparent public service is fully aligned with HRIS-Ke’s objectives. By harnessing technology, the public service is poised to achieve unparalleled levels of efficiency, and this system is a testament to that commitment. the trainers are architects of this transformation since their expertise will build the foundation for a seamless transition as they train end-users across the public service. Their contribution will not only streamline payroll management but also consolidate human resource data for better decision-making and strategic planning.
The PS in his remarks encouraged the trainers to embrace a spirit of continuous improvement, recognizing that this system, while groundbreaking, will evolve to meet the ever-changing demands of the public service. In this moment, they are not only trainers but also champions of a brighter, more transparent future for the public service.
