The Principal Secretary for the State Department for Public Service, Dr. Jane Kere Imbunya today presided over the official launch of the new ultra-modern Conference Facility at the NYS Technical Training Institute, Naivasha.
In her address, Dr. Imbunya noted that the establishment of the facility comes at a pivotal time when the public service is undergoing significant transformation—embracing technology, efficiency, and continuous learning as key drivers of national development.
“This facility will not only enhance the Institute’s training capacity but also provide an enabling environment for dialogue, research, and collaboration—essential elements in shaping a responsive and high-performing public workforce,” said Dr. Imbunya.
NYS Commandant General, Mr. James Tembur commended the milestone, emphasizing that the facility will also be open to external clients for meetings and conferences as part of NYS’s commercialization and sustainability strategy.
“This facility will serve as a hub for training, innovation, and revenue generation—contributing both to the professional growth of Service members and to the financial sustainability of the institution,” noted Mr. Tembur.
As part of the launch activities, 1,500 trees were planted, bringing the total number of trees planted within NYS establishments to an impressive 74 million—a demonstration of NYS’s continued commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development.
