IHRM Executive Director Pays Courtesy Call to PS Dr. Jane Kere Imbunya
The Human Resource (HR) profession plays a critical role in shaping organizational culture, driving employee engagement, and aligning workforce strategies with business goals. HR professionals are responsible not only for recruitment and compliance but also for fostering leadership development, promoting diversity and inclusion, and managing change effectively.
Today, the Executive Director of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM), CHRP Quresha Abdullahi, paid a courtesy call on the Principal Secretary for Public Service and Human Capital Development, Dr. Jane Kere Imbunya, at her Harambee House office. The meeting focussed on championing the welfare and development of the Human Resource profession in Kenya.
During the visit, CHRP Quresha Abdullahi briefed the PS on the recent success of the 5th Men in HR Convention, which was held from September 23rd to 26th, 2025, at the Sarova Whitesands Hotel in Mombasa. She highlighted the impact of the four-day event, which brought together HR leaders, executives, and professionals from across the country and beyond.
The theme of the convention, "Redefining Leadership: The Modern HR Gentleman in a Gen Z & AI-Powered World," reflected the urgent need for male HR professionals to adapt to both technological shifts and evolving generational dynamics.
The Executive Director expressed gratitude to the Principal Secretary for the continued support extended by the State Department. She remarked that the success of the convention was made possible through strategic partnerships and the goodwill of public institutions.
“We are grateful for your support in making the 5th Men in HR Convention a resounding success,” CHRP Quresha said.
PS Dr. Imbunya commended IHRM for its role in professionalizing HR practice and emphasized the government's commitment to nurturing ethical, forward-thinking leadership within the public service. She noted that forums such as the Men in HR Convention are instrumental in shaping conversations around inclusive leadership and technology readiness.
"These platforms are not just events they are part of a broader movement to redefine leadership in a changing world," the PS said.
They both reaffirmed their shared vision of empowering HR professionals across the country.
